Tufts LEADS is a leadership development program facilitated by the Office for Campus Life, in collaboration with many campus partners, which encourages students to learn, explore, achieve, develop and serve. Through bi-weekly session and an annual day-long leadership conference, the program is ideal for both those who hold a traditional leadership role and for students who simply are looking to further develop their leadership talents.
Grounded in the Social Change Model of Leadership, which was developed in 1996 by a group of professionals at the Higher Education Research Institute of the University of California, Los Angeles, the program seeks to:
Enhance student’s understanding of self and individual leadership skills and talent;
Develop student’s ability to mobilize oneself and others to serve and work collaboratively; and
Facilitate positive social change at the institution and in the community by enabling students to take actions that help the Tufts community to function more effectively and ethically.
