The Office for Campus Life is excited to announce the new student engagement platform, JumboLife! JumboLife is your one-stop-shop for all things student engagement including student events, Undergraduate Orientation programs, and Student Organizations. You may be asked to log in using your Tufts Single Sign-On (SSO) for some tasks.
Over the semester, student organization leaders will utilize the new platform to manage all of your student organization’s needs, including membership, event registration, program attendance, budgeting, and event analytics. Other departments, including the Office of Residential Life and Learning will also be utilizing the platform for additional campus engagement opportunities.
Student organization registration, events and attendance tracking is required and must be managed through JumboLife. Please note that this includes all events and meetings; both virtual and in person.
JumboLife is powered by Presence, so you may see email confirmations come from firstname.lastname@example.org.
Fall 2020 Covid-19 Updates for Student Organizations
Please review the Student Organization guidelines outlined in the Fall 2020 Campus Guide for Students, beginning on page 36. Student Organizations with specific questions about their operations this fall should contact the Office for Campus Life at email@example.com.
General Operations & Meetings
Student Organization operations cannot begin until Monday September 14, 2020, unless otherwise approved for Undergraduate Orientation.
Meetings are allowed with no more than 10 people with physical distancing ability of six feet between participants.
Face coverings are required at all times for any meeting, event or program.
Outside guests are prohibited on campus for any student organization purposes. This includes speakers, performers, photographers, judges, and other vendors.
All events, programs, or gatherings (indoors or outdoors) are limited to 10 people. The University acknowledges that there are differences between guidelines related to size of gatherings and events published by Massachusetts and different towns and cities within the Commonwealth. The city of Somerville restricts gatherings to 10 people, thus, out of an abundance of caution, the University is also following these conservative guidelines.
Dance Groups must adhere to all social distancing guidelines and additional guidelines based on the space and type of performance. Tufts will be adhering to the guidelines of the National Dance Education Organization of 10-12 feet distance between dancers.
All Club Sports are cancelled and any organization or activity that involves close personal contact is prohibited.
Tabling/vending is prohibited indoors. Some outdoor tabling opportunities may be available on a limited basis.
All travel for student organizations is prohibited for the Fall semester. This includes ROTC programs.
Attendance recording, through the new JumboLife student engagement platform, is required for any gathering.
Approval/posting of all events, including meetings, in-person and virtual, will be required through the new JumboLife student engagement platform.
Information is changing daily, please check back for updates.
Student Organization Registration
All TCU recognized student organizations, sub-groups, club sports, recognized graduate student organizations and student organizations sponsored by a University department are required to register with the Office for Campus Life. Registration is now open at jumbolife.tufts.edu/organizationregistration.
This registration is independent from the TCUJ Re-recognition process, and is required for participation in the Annual Student Organizations Fair and to receive space reservation access.
When completing your form:
use your official student organization name,
read the directions for each section very carefully. Specifically, pay close attention to the category selection where there are a minimum of THREE categories you must select,
use only Tufts email addresses, and
be sure your cover photo meets the size requirements and is NOT an organization logo.
By registering with OCL your organization will then be granted space reservation access for the 2020-2021 academic year via ReserveTufts. It may take up to 7 days from when you register to receive access. Once access is granted the contact names will receive an email from the Reservations Office. NOTE: Capacities in all spaces have been reduced and many spaces are no longer available for reservations. See Event Spaces for details and check ReserveTufts for exact capacities.
Student Organization Fair
The 2020 Student Organizations Fair will be held through a virtual platform on September 16 from 5 – 7 pm. Please note the Student Organizations Fair is for currently recognized student organizations only. There is no additional registration required to participate in the fair. All currently recognized organizations will be contacted once decisions on this event have been decided.
Required Treasury Training
TCU Treasury Meetings will be held virtually at the beginning of the semester, and is required only for TCU Treasury funded groups. Attendance is required for BOTH Signatories at one of two meetings. Check back soon for the meeting times and access information.
